More Thoughs on the BCS

Here’s a thought for the whole BCS mess. Texas and Oklahoma will never play nice in the same sandbox. If the powers that be will not work out a system to decide a national championship, I will. Ever since the Big 8 invited the Texas schools to join the conference, the OU vs. TX game was no longer just about bragging rights, and recruiting; it was a conference game that would lead to the league championship.

It’s time for Texas to walk. Texas needs to leave the Big 12 for the PAC 10. I would recommend Texas use its clout to bring along UTEP out of Conf USA as well. BOOM! The PAC 10 now has roots in Texas! USC and Texas are now in a 12 team league with a championship game. The recruiting advantage would be great for Texas…”Son you can stay in state for school and we’ll travel to cities like Las Vegas and Los Angeles…Not Stillwater OK or Lincoln NE. You’ll also be playing in a bigger media market!” Additionally you can no longer discount the PAC 10 champ because they didn’t play in a conference championship game.

The annual OU vs. TX game will now be a non conference game and will add to both schools strength of schedule.

What happens to the big 12 you ask? Well, Arkansas needs to get out of the SEC and come home. The Cotton Bowl will now be home to the OU vs. TX game and we’ll move the Arkansas vs. A&M game to Dallas as well. The SEC can cherry pick any team it wants from the ACC or the Big East.

Thoughts from a Sooner....Bob Stoops does not "run up the score" because he has no class.

This whole argument that Stoops runs up the score is ridiculous. There have been so many fourth quarters this year where Joey Hazle, the backup quarterback as well as second and third string players got put in to play the game. A coach cannot tell a second or third string player to “ease up” especially when that may be the only time he is on the field in front of his friends and family. Also, Stoops did not design the system. The simple fact that Texas beat OU and yet now OU is playing for the national championship, should tell any UT person who made it even through one semester of school that “style points” are just part of the game/system and that class has nothing to do with it. Mack Brown, should figure out that if you want to be a “nice guy” you should not be a college coach and that a game where you try to knock the snot out of the guy in front of you does not involve allot of "class."

Many UT fans get confused between the University of Texas and the State itself as if they are one in the same. The University has always had a mediocre to high-level of a football program. The state has always had mediocre to poor programs even during the Southwest conference. OU has seven national championships, 42 conference championships, 24 bowl wins with 41 appearances, the longest winning streak in college football history, the most points scored in any season by a college football team (706 this year), and according to the NCAA, the number one football program and modern era. OU only looks at UT as a mere spoiler to its championship season every year. Basically, we view you as you view the A&M Aggies.

This is the first season, UT did not choke the rest of the season after losing one game. Good for Texas-ya’ll are learning. Bob stoops knows that you have to play EVERY game the hardest no matter whether you are winning or losing in order to reach a national championship and that you never stop playing until the time runs out because the one moment that you stop, you loose, 45-35. Mack Brown is slowly starting to figure out that “style points” are unfortunately a strategy these days and not to be used in some type of crappy argument over class. OU vs. Florida for the NC….enough said.

BCS DECLARES GERMANY WINNER OF WW II US RANKED 4TH

After determining the Big-12 championship game participants the BCS computers were put to work on other major contests and today the BCS declared Germany to be the winner of World War II.

"Germany put together an incredible number of victories beginning with the annexation of Austria and the Sudetenland and continuing on into conference play with defeats of Poland, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands. Their only losses came against the US and Russia; however considering their entire body of work--including an incredibly tough Strength of Schedule--our computers deemed them worthy of the #1 ranking."

Questioned about the #4 ranking of the United States the BCS commissioner stated "The US only had two major victories--Japan and Germany. The computer models, unlike humans, aren't influenced by head-to-head contests--they consider each contest to be only a single, equally-weighted event."

German Chancellor Adolph Hiter said "Yes, we lost to the US; but we defeated #2 ranked France in only 6 weeks." Herr Hitler has been criticized for seeking dramatic victories to earn 'style points' to enhance Germany's rankings. Hitler protested "Our contest with Poland was in doubt until the final day and the conditions in Norway were incredibly challenging and demanded the application of additional forces."

The French ranking has also come under scrutiny. The BCS commented " France had a single loss against Germany and following a preseason #1 ranking they only fell to #2."

Japan was ranked #3 with victories including Manchuria, Borneo and the Philippines.
